The Dogo Argentino Club of America and its health committee are dedicated to providing up-to-date health-related information and education to Dogo Argentino owners and breeders regarding the best care practices for the Dogo Argentino and to promote, support, and encourage improving the health of the Dogo Argentino in an effort to reduce the incidence of genetic and hereditary disease, doing so will enhance and protect the interests of the breed.

DACA Health Committee

Mission Statement:
To monitor and improve the physical and genetic health of the breed through data collection and education outreach. Provide health-related recommendations to DACA members and the General public; collaborate with canine health-oriented organizations, institutions, and projects such as Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) and AKC Canine Health Foundation. Educate and support Dogo Argentino owners and breeders on health issues and concerns impacting the breed.

Objectives:
• To identify and monitor health concerns in our breed, and make this information available to Dogo Argentino owners and breeders.
• To monitor the genetic health of our breed and to preserve its’ genetic diversity by encouraging additions to the AKC DNA Database and the CHIC DNA Repository by individual owners and breeders as well as promoting sample collection at Specialties and supported entries.
• To encourage participation in health testing recommendations and the submission of testing results to OFA.
